The last month before school starts and the boys played as hard as they could. We sent bowling for the first time as a family at the local bowling alley and we all had a lot of fun. The boys finished their summer swim lessons and they both jumped off of the diving board. We went to the Cache Valley County Fair and saw all of the livestock, tractors, and got a lot of candy. Dustin threw Jana a surprise 50th birthday party at the Veterans' Park in Layton and we had a nice family get together. We needed a nice picture of Jair for his Silver Pups pre-school, so we dressed him up and took photos of him in front of the front door. They turned out great.
Today (August 24th, 2016) was the first day of 1st grade Chinese immersion for Taycen. He was so excited to go to school and see all of his friends and have school lunch. We took him to school a little early so he could play on the playground with all of the other kids a little before school started.
Yesterday was orientation. Taycen met his teachers and learned were to line up to go into class.

While Taycen was in school, Jair did some additional alphabet exercises during his computer time, earned a lego minifigure for completing his job sticker chart, and watched a show.

First impressions of school and the first day
How as school? "It was long"
Then he talked about legos. Jair received legos for getting all his stickers and he wanted to know what he got.
How was Chinese class? "I didn't understand anything"
Did you have Pizza and chocolate milk - "Ya!, How did you know?!"

In the car he became a little emotional.
Tired, thirsty, and in need of some downtime.
Once we got home, and rested a little he was back to normal
Tomorrow, it will all start over.
In school, he was asked to draw and write about how he feels in school on the first day.
He wrote "I was nervous to go to school"
He said that in his picture the other kids are happy and excited about being in school and he felt nervous inside. -- so sad
