Week two in the life of Taycen!

Sunday October 18th, 2009

It was a very busy week for us. As you can imagine, both of Taycen's parents are fatigued, but especially his mother. Taycen has decided that it would be in his best interest if he eats every one to two hours for only five to ten minutes, then require at least twenty minutes of burping.

Throughout the week, this time has slipped a little. Near the end of the week, he was able to go two to three hours between meals during the daytime and up to two hours, ocassionaly three during the night.

We are enjoying his special little spirit in our home. He is a wonderful little boy. He doesn't cry much except when he is hungry or when he has the ocassional gas attack. He loves to be sung to sleep and he still hasn't come to enjoy diaper changes or bath time. Being a newborn is quite tramatic. The birth process is rough, then you have to go home with two people that love you, but have no idea what they are doing. Lets just say that mom and dad appologize a lot to the little one and try not repeat their mistakes. It is really just the little things like remembering to cut our fingernails so we don't scratch is soft little skin. Dad has to shave more often than he used to. We also learned quickly not to put the diapers on so high becasue it causes diaper rash. :( 

Overall, I think that we are doing a great job. We feel blessed to have such a wonderful son and are thankful that he is such a good baby.
